Ok, so this is essentially a photo essay of what I did during my most recent trip up to New York. Interestingly, I didn’t take a lot of photos like I normally would because I was “socializing”, but obviously there are enough to show what when down.
I drove up to see Elon James White, the host of Blacking It Up, perform in the Off-Broadway show Laughing Liberally: This Ain’t No Tea Party. Along the way I met another listener of the show, L. Joy Williams, and the rest is history.
*edit* Oh! I forgot to mention that I didn’t leave NY until, like, 1am and got home around 3:30am due to a detour and traffic.

My first stop was Buff Patty on Myrtle Avenue and I also stopped at Cake Joy bakery to try out their $4 cupcakes. Brooklyn, NY

Going back to Manhattan from Brooklyn. This was my first time realizing that the train rides on the bridge too. I was also shocked to see the people walking across the Brooklyn bridge. Mayhap I'll try that on a future trip.

My tradition is to get a cupcake from Crumbs when I'm in NY. I did NOT get the Sister Act cupcake. I'm a Red Velvet and/or Blackout cupcake girl.

Crumbs has an iPhone app. I must download this.

I arrived at Laughing Liberally early. See? Hardly any people there. But while trying to get a phone signal, a line magically appeared and the waiting area was completely filled.

*Singing* Bombs don't kill people...

Ms Williams after the show. Such a lovely person.

I think I should invest in a point & shoot camera. This way, I can have clear pictures of myself.

L. Joy Williams and Elon waiting in the cold for my car. I had the best parking spot EVER! It was cheap (NY style) and close to Times Square.

Drinks at Destinations in the East Village

L. Joy Williams showing off her iPad2 to the strange man who was staring at her through the window. He actually came inside for a closer look.

I really wanted to capture his B-Boy stance, but Elon refused to pose for a photo, sooo... yeah.

Walking past a window we saw this...

The evening ended with pizza and a dispute over a Craig Mack lyric. None of us got these slices. I don't do pizza with slices of American cheese on it.
