Did You Know Atlanta has a Food Truck Park?

Haven’t we all watched Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race and wondered exactly where these mystical trucks actually serve food? I know I wondered. Supposedly there are these tiny trucks rolling around the city with wonderfully delicious morsels of food waiting for my consumption. My problem was that I could never find them!

My luck with finding food trucks changed yesterday when I decided to take a ride around Atlanta in search of visual inspiration. As I approached the Howell Mill Rd exit from I-75 South, I just happened to glance to my left when I saw the Food Truck Park sign.

After seeing this sign, my decision to turn right quickly turned into a decision to turn left. It’s a little confusing to figure out how to get into the park if you’re coming from the opposite direction. Just turn left at the gas station, ride to the end of the street, and make another left into the park.

To my disappointment, only one truck was open and they were offering drink samples, and the samples were not full-size either. Oh, and if I ‘liked’ their Facebook fan page, I could get a pair of sunglasses or a nifty backpack. I chose the backpack.
It sucked that the other trucks were closed, but now I know where they all hang out. I’ll be back and I’ll make sure it’s on a bright, sunny day.
