At 6:32am ET I shattered my iPad screen.
I had just woken up and hopped out of bed to grab my iPad from its charging spot on the kitchen counter. I had just unplugged it and unlocked it when I remembered that my trashcans was still outside my front door. I had my iPad in my left hand and attempted to grab the trashcans with my right hand. Somehow my hand decided iPad holding wasn’t very important and then…crash!
My iPad landed face down on the ceramic tile floor. Oddly, I looked at it unconcerned, as if nothing was wrong. I went on with my task of relocating the trashcan. *Pause break* The trashcan is quite small and comes up to my knee.
Anyway, I bent down to pick up my precious baby and flipped her over. Right before my eyes she went from being young and smooth to old, cracked, and unsightly. I gently laid her down on the counter and moved into action.
Step 1. Post my anguish on Google Plus.
Step 2. Search the Internet to see what others did in these instances.
Step 3. Researched repair costs in Atlanta. While thinking I already know a repair person in Atlanta.
Step 4. Tweeted BrothaTech because I know him and he has been fixing iPad/iPhones on his spare time.
Step 5. He can do it. He’s gonna do it. Me and my iPad, we’re going to be ok. Whew!
I have owned iDevices since the iPod photo. I have occasionally dropped my iDevices, but never on a hard surface. Considering that I have owned 1 iPod, 5 iPhones, and 2 iPads, I think I’m doing ok. Since I recently picked up the iPhone 5, I am going out TODAY to get a case for it.
Here’s a picture of my broken baby:

And the song of the day is Kurtis Blow’s The Breaks
