When I’m in the kitchen there’s always a possibility of me ruining a perfectly happy piece of raw meat. (See g+ post about the steak I cooked that smelled like sausage.) Anyway…this time I focused on the task at hand and made some perfectly edible burgers. See the picture below? Isn’t my burger beautiful? And before you ask – yes,… Read more →
There’s that awkward moment when you’re standing in the grocery store and you can’t remember if you own a can opener. This is an awkward moment for everyone, right? RIGHT? Ok, so maybe it’s just me. However, my solution to my need for tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste was to purchase the items in boxes. I’m thinking boxed… Read more →
I stopped by this cupcake shop on my way to Target. Ok, so it’s not a cupcake shop; it’s a Taqueria with a cupcake display inside. The outside is quite deceiving and the inside smells like meat and beans.
Anyway…I got the turtle cupcake, and I am hoping to being pleasantly surprised when I get home.
I found them and I’m going to try them. Interestingly, they also had dill pickle flavor, but I turned my nose up at them.

I am standing in my kitchen cooking sausage and grits for breakfast and thinking of my grandmother. When I was a child, she would sometimes cook us a breakfast of sausage, grits, and biscuits – homemade biscuits. It was so long ago, but I can remember the taste and texture of the biscuits. I remember her oven. I remember the… Read more →
I’m always happy to eat food, and when you mix social media AND food, I am really, REALLY happy.
Yesterday I went on a date with Tiny g (also known as Winnie, also known as a whole bunch of other names I’m not about to type). Our mission was to go to the John’s Creek Whole Foods here in the Atlanta area so that she could get some apple cider vinegar. Yeah, it was as simple as that. What… Read more →
I’ve been so very busy these last eight weeks. I got a new job, sold all of my belongings, and moved 750 miles. I’m starting to settle in and I’ve started the process of decorating my apartment. I chose my apartment with the goal of not moving after 12 months. Y’all know this will be a major step for me… Read more →
